Recently, Ask Men put together a Top 10 list of supercars that should be more affordable given our current economy. Their list of high-performance and exotic cars is a great snapshot of the kind of elevated and extreme pricing of this class of car. Don't get me wrong, I would be ecstatic to drive any one of these dynamos but am not so sure that even if I had the money I would put down that kind of cash.

The TechArt GT Street RS crushed the previous track record at Sachsenring by over 4 seconds, handily beating the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce.

Switzer's latest, and less extreme offering, is a tuning package for the Porsche 911 GT2 which puts out 800 hp on 93 Octane. Who knows what this thing is capable of on racing fuel...

Now, German tuners 9ff have trumped the pack once again with their 9ff BT2 (bi-turbo 2) offering which produces a ridiculous 850 hp. This makes their Porsche 911 GT2 good for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) run in 3 seconds flat, reaching 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 8.7 seconds and hitting 300 km/h (186 mph) in only 18.5 seconds.

Wimmer RS have taken the Porsche 911 GT2 Speed and released a tuning package based off the standard 997 GT2 biturbo featuring two Wimmer turbochargers.

This could be the fastest ever modified 911 GT2 – an 800bhp Porker-powerhouse. After obviously overdosing on brave pills, US tuners Switzer Performance laughed in the face of Porsche’s standard 911 GT2 530bhp power output and wanted more, because more is, well, better than less.
