Fresh off the unveiling of the Porsche 911 Turbo a little over a week ago, details and pictures have just been released for the new 2010 Porche 911 GT3 RS, a race-bred "purist" model that's the ultimate street legal machine. The RS (which stands for RennSport) features a modified version of the GT3's 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat six that bumps power up to 450 bhp, a 15 hp increase.

The face-lifted version of Porsche’s extreme 911, the 911 GT3 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. So, the Porsche GT3 RS’s face lift couldn’t be far behind and here we have proof in the form of some spy pictures of the mule doing some serious testing at the Nurburgring.

The GT3 RS is a Porsche 911 for those with no fear. We didn’t get the 996-series GT3 RS, but Yankee speed freaks soon will be able to flog the 997-series follow-up. The RS is lighter than the already svelte GT3 thanks to the use of carbon fiber for the car’s hood panel and its adjustable rear wing
